From the inbox, tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Rhawn Street, Philadelphia:
U.S. Rep. Schwartz, Philadelphia City officials, PennDot, Philadelphia Police Department representatives, AAA and others will unveil newly activated pedestrian crosswalk timers along Roosevelt Boulevard. 46 key Boulevard locations are scheduled to receive the timers, for a total of 488 pedestrian crosswalk timers. The first of the timers are scheduled to be installed in the beginning of August, with timer installation concluding in late September 2008.
The $440,209 project to install pedestrian countdown timers and paint new continental crosswalks at certain intersections on the Boulevard is financed as part of $3.2 million in funding secured by U.S. Rep. Schwartz for safety improvements on Roosevelt Boulevard.
