On Sunday, July 8th, the American Cancer Society is hosting the 40th annual Bike-a-Thon in Philadelphia. There are four different starting points. The 100 mile ride starts at the Ben Franklin Bridge. The other starting points are for shorter rides. There are well-stocked rest stops along the route. If you don't want to ride you can donate to those who do. You can read more at
A number of local bike shops provide roadside repairs along the route and support the effort in other ways. If you are thinking of buying a bike, remember to check the list of participating bike shops and patronize those stores throughout the year.
