This 4th of July it seemed appropriate to note those who have served our country and fought for its ideals in two arenas, the military and the political. This list below is of people who have run for office since 2005 after having served in the military in some capacity. It is limited to county, congressional, and state house or senate races in Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties (with a few other names thrown in), with military service post-Vietnam. Those parameters chosen out of convenience. This names are listed alphabetically without regard for party.
Thanks to those who reviewed it in draft form and added a name or two. Special thanks to my GOP friends (who might not wish to be named here) for their help. If readers know of any that I missed please comment or email and I will add them and repost the longer list later.
My thanks to those who have defended our freedom and our national values, whether on the battlefield, the parlor, government buildings, the courtroom, or the streets.
