SEPTA Route 40 buses will resume regular operations on South Street and Lombard Street between 34th Street and 23rd Street when the South Street bridge reopens on Saturday, Nov. 6.
The first Route 40 bus is expected to cross the newly reconstructed bridge at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday, after the conclusion of a ceremony to mark the project’s completion. A map of the restored Route 40 service can be found at http://www.septa.org/alert/pdf/040-2010-11-06.pdf.
Route 40 buses have been detouring around the bridge since the reconstruction started in December 2008.
