Yet Another VA Cemetery Update

According to the Sept. 3rd Morning Call ("VA has no backup for area cemetery," by Scott Kraus:

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' search for new alternatives to its chosen Upper Makefield Township, Bucks County, site for a southeastern Pennsylvania veterans cemetery appears to have come up empty.

But officials in Bucks County say they are getting closer to completing the sale of the preferred 200-acre site near the village of Dolington from Horsham Township-based developer Toll Brothers to the VA.

''VA is working to negotiate the purchase of the Dolington land, and we are optimistic that we will purchase the land. Dolington is our first choice,'' VA spokesman Jim Benson said in an e-mailed statement Friday. ''If the Dolington land becomes unavailable in the future we will look to see what alternative sites are available, including the Pennhurst property.''

C'mon folks, let's work this thing out.
