Dave Steil to Retire

The Bucks County Courier Times is reporting that State Rep Dave Steil (R-31) is retiring. (See "Steil won't seek re-election," by Kori Walters. The Liberal Doomsayer also weighs in on this topic. Steil co-chaired the Speaker's Reform Commission with State Rep. Josh Shapiro.

    Steil is in a very, very competitive district in a part of Bucks County that seems to be turning increasingly Democratic if you look at the numbers from 2006. For a senior member of the House, he only won by a couple of points. Given that, I guess I'm not surprised he's hanging it up.

    I wonder if there will be a trend here in PA to mirror the number of congressional and senate GOP retirements.
