A Warning Email from Conservatives

For some reason I've been added to a selection of conservative email lists and press lists.  It leads to some unusual emails from time to time.  This past Friday was one of those.  An open email to US Senators and Representatives arrived, with a warning to Republicans serving in the Senate or the House.  

Here is an excerpt:

And if Republicans cave in now, when it really counts, next time you will be weaker, because your conservative base will be outraged.  Many who worked hard to elect you in the past will never lift a finger for you again.

and later

Let us also remind you that a great many potent conservative organizations and millions of conservative and liberty-loving voters do not believe in the divine right of incumbents to be re-nominated.

It is signed by a long list of names.  Just to give a few examples, the signers include Ed Meese, Phyllis Schlafly, and Foster Friess.  I was a little surprised to see Ginni Thomas of Liberty Consulting included in the list.  Ms. Thomas is married to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
