[update 9/06: THE AIRTIME FOR THE TAPED 9/11 SESSION HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 7:00 P.M.]
The Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) will provide LIVE gavel-to-gavel coverage of the state Supreme Court’s proceedings concerning the voter ID law and Pennsylvania’s latest legislative redistricting plan. LIVE coverage of the state’s highest court will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 13 in Philadelphia.The justices will hear oral arguments challenging the state’s voter ID law as well of those filed in response to the second state legislative redistricting plan that was approved in June. The state Supreme Court rejected the previous version of the redistricting plan in January. Recently a Commonwealth Court Judge upheld the voter ID law.Online coverage of this session will also be made available through PCN Select, a subscription streaming service offered by PCN. For more information on the service, visit http://pcntv.com/pcn-plus/subscribe-to-premium-content/PCN will also air taped coverage of the state Supreme Court sessions from Tuesday, September 11 on Friday, September 14 at 6:00 p.m. The session from Wednesday, September 12 will then air on Saturday, September 15 beginning at 2:00 p.m.The September 13 session will be the second time LIVE coverage has been permitted during a state Supreme Court session. In January of this year, the state Supreme Court allowed PCN to provide LIVE coverage of the oral arguments for the state’s legislative redistricting plan that was originally approved in December 2011.
Please note: Immediately following the conclusion of PCN’s LIVE coverage of the state Supreme Court’s session on the 13th, PCN will air a special LIVE PCN Call-In program about voter ID and redistricting.
