Attorney Rhonda Brownstein joins the
Education Law Center on June 4 as new Executive Director of the
35-year-old non-profit organization. She is the former legal director for the Southern Poverty Law Center, and collaborated with the Education Law Center while there. She
was lead and co-counsel in many complex class action federal and state
lawsuits on behalf of public schools students, abused workers,
immigrants, prisoners and children in the criminal justice system. Brownstein
is a Philadelphia native, growing up in the Northeast where she
attended local public schools, graduating from Northeast High School.
She is a magna cum laude graduate of the Pennsylvania State University
and received her Juris Doctorate from Temple University School of Law. ELC’s long-time leaders — Janet Stotland and Len Rieser — look forward to continuing to support the work of the organization.
