PCN to Broadcast Specter Series

Former U.S. Senator Arlen Specter will reflect on his personal and professional life during a special five-part oral history series produced by the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN).  After compiling a year’s worth of one-on-one interviews with the former U.S. Senator, the statewide network is ready to premiere its special series, “Arlen Specter: An Oral History.” 

The 15-hour series is slated to begin on Monday, May 14, at 7:00 p.m.  A new episode will air nightly at the same timeslot through Friday, May 18.  Encores have been tentatively scheduled for the following morning at 9:00 a.m. except for the Saturday, May 19 re-air which will begin at 2:00 p.m.  The network is also tentatively planning to re-air the entire series July 16 – 20.

The former Senator openly talks about a host of topics including such historical events like the John F. In 1980, Specter was first elected to represent Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate as a Republican in 1980.  A 30-year incumbent, Specter changed party affiliation in 2009 and in 2010 he lost his bid for the Democratic nomination to a sixth term. 

The Specter oral history series is the second such project for PCN.  In December of last year, the network produced a special oral history series with Pittsburgh native, Dick Thornburgh, former Pennsylvania Governor and U.S. Attorney General.
