I was an original Lady of the Cheesesteak. It took place at Worldcon in 2001; we fans had a big conparty at the hotel and we were partying hard all night. Around 4am George said he was hungry and wanted a cheesesteak, so we all piled into various cars and went to Pat's Steaks together. Once we arrived, someone joked that it'd be funny if we treated this like a quest, and GRRM could knight us. Of course, being the nerds that we were, one guy was like "Oh I have a replica sword in my trunk," so he grabbed it and George knighted each of us one by one. https://www.laweekly.com/winter-is-coming-so-are-the-cheesesteaks-on-game-of-thrones-george-rr-martin-food-quests/ Here's an interview with one of the other "knights". babyravennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9238806.post-4994179265665627382019-03-06T00:36:19.811-05:002019-03-06T00:36:19.811-05:00Jane, it's good to see that you are still acti...Jane, it's good to see that you are still active on the net. In addition to Goodman and Daley, there's State Rep. Madeline Dean, and former Congressman Joe Hoeffel. Looking at their websites doesn't really do much to distinguish the candidates. Dean doesn't even haven an issues page. Goodman's site is mostly a bunch of empty platitudes; I gather she is pro choice and pro gun control but extremely vague on economic issues. Daley's site is a little better, but still vague. Joe Hoeffel's site is the best; He at least explicitly states he supports MedicareForAll & Tuition free community college. But none of them even mention foreign policy at all. And the problem I have with Joe Hoeffel is, while he sounds great on paper, he's not a leader. He has a history of being spineless weenie. He won't stand up to the establishment. If Ed Rendell called him tomorrow and asked him to drop out, I've no doubt he would. It's happened before in other races.

Not terribly impressed by any of them, and my attempts to ask the candidates where they stand on important issues on social media have been ignored. So basically I have no clue who I'm going to vote for in the primary next month. She has a great story and she tells it well. Like Mary Ellen you are quick to notice her professionalism and experience. When attending a function like that where the speaker are all passionate and range from Local Municipal and county candidates to State Supreme court candidates its a good venue to get a good sence of the Candidates. It was obvious the Christina M Hartman and Mary Ellen Balchunis have earned the spot and the highly Professional table. I still question using that number in an email encouraging others to volunteer. It's a bit daunting to think that is goal.

I also question giving up after three rings. In a house of any size it can take that long to get to a phone, and if the person is doing something it can take them three rings to disengage and get to the phone.AboveAvgJanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07041855236200085575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9238806.post-87912791628547952912015-07-30T06:53:00.909-04:002015-07-30T06:53:00.909-04:00I'd say it is more a question of methodology t...I'd say it is more a question of methodology than of exaggeration. Most campaigns refer to each number dialed as a "call made" (as opposed to a "call completed"). At this stage of the game campaigns probably do not leave messages on answering machines so if no one picks up after 3 rings you move on - saving time. Moreover, many campaigns will actually count voters rather than numbers dialed, so if you call a house with a married couple and 2 children in college and a high school senior, then you get "credit" for 5 calls in a few seconds.Dan Loebhttp://pjvoice.org/author/loeb/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9238806.post-82451766719925114102015-05-18T01:11:40.402-04:002015-05-18T01:11:40.402-04:00I don't know -- it probably depends on how muc...I don't know -- it probably depends on how much pressure he feels and how many other things he has on his mind.AboveAvgJanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07041855236200085575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9238806.post-22406578075230057422015-05-18T00:43:20.350-04:002015-05-18T00:43:20.350-04:00Hi - it was a great show tonight.
