Remembrance: Dr. Manan Trivedi

from the inbox, from Dr. Manan Trivedi, Democratic candidate for the 6th congressional district:

BIRDSBORO, Pa – The following is a statement from Iraq War veteran and candidate for Pennsylvania’s 6th congressional district, Manan Trivedi on remembering the victims of the attacks of 9/11:

“With each year that passes, the impact of the attacks of September 11, 2001 remains momentous. On that day, as a Naval officer I knew my life was about to change in ways that would forever impress upon me the resolve and unity of the American people.

“And eleven years later, because of the sheer determination and focus of the men and women who serve our nation so bravely, we can say to the world that those behind these horrific attacks have been eliminated and the remaining threads of Al Qaeda are frayed.

“To the families who lost loved ones on that day in New York, The Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pa, words of comfort are never enough but the actions of friends, family and those who risked the ultimate sacrifice in order to bring about justice for our nation functions as a reminder as to what is truly exceptional about being an American.”
