Murphy's Credit Card Legislation on Colbert

Last week I wrote about newly enacted legislation placing new restrictions on credit card companies doing business with college students. The legislation was initially introduced by Rep. Patrick Murphy, later folded into a larger bill.

Last night on the Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert mentioned those new rules, as his led in to the "The Word" segment. The episode is online at colbertnation.com, and the credit segment starts about 5 minutes in. Murphy wasn't mentioned by name, but maybe he will get a "Colbert bump" anyway.

credit card for students said...

this new credit card act may be viewed as not so good news for some students for the reason that it will be much more difficult for them to obtain a student credit card however why don't we consider the advantage of it. A credit card may help a student discover the true meaning of being responsible but let us not forget that many other people who encountered a bad credit score because of inappropriate credit card use. Bear in mind that how you manage your account can affect your credit history.
