PA Goes Blue?

Campaigns & Elections Politics Magazine recently posted an article on their website entitled "Is Pennsylvania Really Turning Blue?" by Scott Detrow (7/28). You should read the whole thing but here are a few excerpts:

One of the reasons Obama's not yet pulling way ahead of McCain statewide: He hasn't been able to expand his margins in those parts of the state that so solidly supported Hillary Clinton in April's primary. A recent Quinnipiac poll had Obama beating McCain by 12 percentage points statewide, but showed sharp divisions by region. In the Northwest portion of the state, McCain bested Obama by a point, and in the central portion of the state the two are tied.

hmmm, and later:

If Obama is able to boost registration and turnout enough in the state's urban areas, he likely won't need all of those Clinton supporters to win the state come November.

There are quotes from several local politicos, the ubiquitous G. Terry Madonna, Neil Oxman, and state GOP chair Luke Bernstein.

On a completely different topic, for those with young children who read about states turning blue and think of the Veggie Tales video about Madame Blueberry, there is now a punked out / rocked up version of the "I'm so blue" song on YouTube.
