Political Cartoon Exhibit

From the inbox:

The Historical Society of Pennsylvania has a diverse collection of political cartoons from the mid-nineteenth through mid-twentieth century, including numerous reproductions from Puck. Many of the images deal specifically with presidential elections. Though humorous and exaggerated, these political cartoons demonstrate how drastically American political and social concerns changed-from abolition and black rights, to the crisis during World War I, through the Depression and the New Deal, to post-war international security-between 1856 and 1952.

Stop by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania to see our current display of political cartoons from our collection. Admission to view this display is free for members; for more information on membership, please visit our website.
